John Browning
Gun designer who changed the world of weapons when he designed the M1911 pistol, Winchester model 1892 and the Browning Automatic Rifle.
He was an American firearms designer who developed many varieties of military and civilian firearms, cartridges, and gun mechanisms, many of which are still in use around the world. He is arguably the most important figure in the development of modern automatic and semi-automatic firearms and is credited with 128 gun patents.
Before fame he started developing his first guns at age 13 while working with his father.
Browning’s most successful designs include the M1911 pistol, the Browning Hi Power pistol, the Browning .50 caliber machine gun, the Browning Automatic Rifle, and the Browning Auto-5, a ground-breaking semi-automatic shotgun.
His M2 machine gun, Colt 1911 and M4 were used by the U.S. in World War I, World War II and the Korean War.
He has big family. He grew up with 17 siblings and he had a son named Val with his wife Rachel Child.
