World Ostomy Day
World Ostomy Day on October 3 celebrated around the world. This is a special day as it draws attention to the needs of the ostomy patients worldwide. The International Ostomy Association Coordination Committee (IOACC), an association of Regional Ostomy Associations, is committed to the improvement of the quality of life of Ostomates and those with related surgeries, worldwide.
The International Ostomy Association Coordination Committee (IOACC), is organized to grow and develop while remaining independent and financially viable. It provides to its member associations, information and management guidelines, helps to form new to my associations, and advocates on all related matters and policies.
Aim of the World Ostomy Day :
The aim of World Ostomy Day is to improve the rehabilitation of ostomates worldwide by bringing to the attention of the general public and the global community the needs and aspirations of ostomates.
The theme for 2015 is Many Stories, One voice. Every person with an ostomy has their story but together as one voice they can bring awareness of living fully with an ostomy.
