AFCAT test is conducted by the Indian Air Force for selection of officers in all branches of the IAF (except medical and dental department) viz. Flying Branch (Short Service Commission department only), Technical Branch (Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission department) and Ground Duty Branch (Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission department). AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. The advertisement for the same is published in the months of December and June respectively. AFCAT is conducted twice a year in the month of February and August.

Both Male and Female Indian citizens can apply as per Citizenship Act 1955 for the following courses commencing in January 2017 for grant of Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Permanent/Short Service Commission in Technical and Ground Duty branches.

While filling online application, it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available, as details are to be filled as per matriculation and other educational certificates. Please save your recent colour passport size photograph (size 10 to 250 kb) in the computer for attaching to your online application form.
