Sikkim PSC AE, JE Eligibility Details: Sikkim Public Service Commission’s Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineer exam eligibility details are as follows.
Eligibility Conditions:
I. Age Limit:
i. In the case of Assistant Engineers (Civil, Electrical & Mechanical): The candidates age limit should be between 21 to 30 years. The maximum age limit shall be relaxed upto 5 years in respect of candidates belonging to BL, SC & ST and 4 years for MBC candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. (In the case of Sikkim Government Service in regular establishment the maximum age should not be more then 40 years).
ii. In the case of Assistant Engineers (Agriculture): Should have attained the age of 21 years, but should not have attained the age of 30 years. The maximum age limit shall be relaxed upto 5 years in respect of candidates belonging to BL, SC & ST and 4 years for MBC candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.
iii. In the case of Junior Engineer: Should have attained the age of 18 years, but should not have attained the age of 30 years. The maximum age limit shall be relaxed upto 5 years in respect of candidates belonging to BL, SC & ST and 4 years for MBC candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.
II. Educational Qualification and Essential field experience:

4. | Assistant Engineer (Agriculture) | Degree in Agriculture Engineering from a recognized Engineering College /University. |
5. | Junior Engineer (Civil) | Diploma in Civil Engineering (LCE) from a recognized institution or equivalent. |
Other Essential Requisites:
1. Candidate must be in possession of either Sikkim Subject Certificate or Certificate of Identification issued by the Competent Authority under relevant orders of the State Government.
2. Should have valid employment card.
3. Should be conversant with the customs and usages of Sikkim
4. Should have knowledge of any of the State languages.
I. Exam Pattern: Sikkim Public Service Commission conducts Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineer Examination in two stages. i.e Written Examination and Personal Interview (Viva-voce). The candidate must obtain the qualifying marks decided by Sikkim Public Service Commission in the written Examination. A candidate, who obtains suchminimum qualifying marks in the written examination, as may be fixed by the Commission, shall be called for personality test. Personality test will be of 50 marks or as assigned by the Commission at its discretion.

i. Scheme of Examination for Assistant Engineer (Civil): The Examination will consist of 4 papers:

Selection Procedure: Sikkim Public Service Commission’s Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineers Selection procedure will consists of Written Examination and Interview Test.
Written Examination:
Assistant Engineer’s written examination will consists of four papers of 700 marks. Paper I will consists of General English, Paper II will consists of General Knowledge and Paper III & IV will consists of the relevant Engineering Subject Papers.
Junior Engineer’s written examination will be held for 400 Marks, which consists of three papers. Paper I on General English, Paper II on General Knowledge and Paper III will consits of Main Paper. The Commission shall have the discretion to fix the qualifying marks in any or all subjects in the written examination. The candidate must obtain the qualifying marks decided by Sikkim Public Service Commission in the written Examination.
Interview: A candidate, who obtains minimum qualifying marks in the written examination, as may be fixed by the commission, shall be called for personality test. Personality test will be of 50 marks or as assigned by the commission at its discretion.
After the examination and interview, the names of the successful candidates will be arranged by the Commission in the order of merit based on marks awarded to each candidate. Candidates shall be recommended for appointment to the available vacancies in the order in which their names appear in the list.
