Bangladesh executes top Islamist leader

Bangladesh has executed Motiur Rahman Nizami, a to  Islamist leader for crimes committed during the war of independence from Pakistan in 1971. He was convicted of setting up a militia which helped the Pakistani army identify and kill pro-independence activists. Nizami led Bangladesh’s largest Islamist Party. Jamaat-e-Islami. He is the fourth leader of the party to be hanged to death since 2013. To get latest current affairs view here.
