Largest violet diamond found!

A violet diamond, one of the rarest gems in the world,  has been found at Australia’s remote Argyle Mine. The largest-of-its-kind,  the germ originally weighed 9.17 carats and had etchings, pits, and crevices. Named as Argyle Violet, the diamond has now been polished down to an oval shaped gem weighing 2.83 carats. Argyle mine is where more that 90% of world’s pink and red gems are unearthed form.
