Maharastra BJP Government renames health scheme

A health scheme, which was aimed at providing cashless treatment to poor, ‘Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Arogya Yojana’, named after the former Prime Minister of India, has been renamed by the BJP-led Maharastra government. The scheme has now been named after social reformer Mahatma Phule. This step by the state government received criticism from Congress, which termed it as ‘inappropriate’.
